River House

The house’s owner and her children adore the river, which is where they usually play water sports. This is why they purchased a beautiful property on the Paraguay River’s side.

Our idea was to invoke the feeling of being aboard a ship. This feeling is answered by the volumes resting on concrete platforms, which place the house at a safe height, while also removing it from the ground, making it “float”. We created a contrast between the introverted entry façade and the rear façade, which is very open towards the water.

The metallic structure and the white roof, together with the light tones, manage to achieve the desired nautical mood.

The residence, a large line facing the river, is slightly slanted, giving way to a broad yard between the house and the river.

One volume holds the social area, and another houses the bedrooms, which are connected by means of bridges that converge into a central hall. This central hall is the starting point of an infinity pool that lead to the river, and is perpendicular to the lateral volumes.

My house is unique… I love nature, the river, the plants, the sky and in its interior, I feel that I am still in touch with all of it.
