Glamping

This was a pilot project made to test how the market would respond to the idea of local tourism immersed in elevated levels of design and comfort.

In a swamp area facing Lake Ypacarai, we decided to bet on an architectural proposal that does not damage the ecosystem, and that follows an artisanal, low-impact construction system.

Thus, we projected these pentagonal, wooden, dock-like platforms, so as to preserve the pre-existing vegetation and improve the views from the three cabins. The cabins were installed diagonally within the property, so as to avoid them interfering with each other and ensure privacy, with slight turns that open them to the north. The deck is covered by plants, thus optimizing climate control and also blending the volumes with their surroundings.

Each cabin’s interior design is inspired by the exterior’s natural elements: the lake, the earth and the trees. The combination of neutral colors, textures and Paraguayan arts and crafts results in a warm and relaxed atmosphere.

An evapo-transpiration treatment plant, which works with banana plants, provides an effluent treatment system that prevents pollution and protects the Lake Ypacarai.

The structure is composed by a union of a set of triangles, which merge into a heterostructure built with bamboo, and phenolic wooden plaques.
